The week we were finalizing the critical non-destructive testing for the new facility a phase that required non-stop, hyper-focused attention to every weld and report I realized my mandatory technical certification exam had hit its final deadline, and there was simply no way to carve out the four hours needed for the dry, administrative online test without jeopardizing the project's safety schedule. My hands-on quality control work had to come first; delaying the final inspection was not an option. Facing that clash of priorities, I found a way to bridge the gap by arranging for someone to simply take my online exam for me. It was a necessary logistical decision to ensure my license remained active while keeping my full, undistracted focus on the integrity and safety of the crucial field work.
